Fifteen-hundred

On a warm spring day, B12 61572 breaks the silence as it canters past
with a train
for
Holt. With the completion
of N7 69621 in the summer, the North Norfolk Railway became home
to three working Great Eastern locos in 2005. (The third being
J15

Dub-dee at Winter
Caption: An
evocative scene as WD Austerity 2-10-0 90775 pulls away from Weybourne
during the North Norfolk Railway's inaugural Winter Steam Gala. The
Gala was the first time that I had converted my pictures to black and
white, with very pleasing results.

Great Western Summer
Caption: The
Great Western came to Norfolk in the Summer with GWR celebrity
3440 City of Truro visiting the NNR.
This is probably my best picture of Truro, as the weather
was never quite on my side during the engine's stay.

Return of the
tank engine
Caption: For
a railway that (not many years ago) once relied on (industrial) tank
engines for the bulk of its motive power, the NNR had gone almost 12
months
without
a tank loco in traffic. This gap was finally filled on 4th
September when
N7 69621
returned to revenue earning service after its 10 yearly overhaul. The
loco is seen here in the afternoon sunshine approaching Holt.

Auto Train

a damp Friday morning, the driver and fireman of 1450 talk amongst
themselves as they wait for departure

Great
