| 4–5th September Steam Gala | |||
Variety – was this the secret ingredient to this year's gala? For the first time, the NNR made use of it's new level crossing to bring in a star guest in the form of the NRM's 30777 Sir Lamiel, which arrived in the early hours of Friday morning for a three week stay. On a brief stay (but very popular with visitors, crews (and shed staff) alike) was Jeremy Hosking's 9F 92212 (based at the Mid-Hants Railway). Ian Storey's Black 5 44767 George Stephenson was also back in action, following a monumental effort during the week after it failed only a week before the gala. N2 1744 made it's third visit to the line in 12 months as it stood in for fellow GCR based Jinty 47406. The remaining locos included; GWR 56xx 5619 (which is on loan at the NNR for two years), LNER J15 65462 and Hunslet 16-inch 1982 Ring Haw (which, in my opinion, put in the run of the weekend on Friday!). So, with seven locomotives representing all of the Big Four, BR and even a plucky industrial, together with an intensive service and several runs of the goods train, was this the NNR's best ever Steam Gala? I'll leave you to decide… |

| 5th June Mixed Traffic Weekend | |||
| The North Norfolk's second Mixed Traffic Weekend featured a variety of steam and diesel traction. The highlight was Ian Storey's recently overhauled Black 5 44767 George Stephenson, making a welcome return to the NNR 12 years after its first visit. Other highlights included NRM owned 'LEV1', which returned to traffic in April, and recently overhauled Class 101 DMU, which looked superb after being back dated to late 50s/early 60s condition. Other locos in action were drawn from the NNR's home fleet: LNER J15 65462 and N7 69621; BR Class 25 25035 and Class 31 31207. | |||

| 11th March Sheringham Level Crossing – The Opening | |||
| While the pictures here aren't strictly of the North Norfolk Railway they do help tell a bit of the story of Britannia 70013 Oliver Cromwell's journey to Sheringham to open the railway's new level crossing. It's been reported that around 5,000 people turned out to see the loco haul the first train over Station Road in 45 years. Congratulations to all involved with the project to rejoin the NNR with the national network, I'm sure this charter will be the first of many. | |||

| 7th March Sheringham Level Crossing – The Test Train | |||
| A historic day for the North Norfolk Railway as the line was reconnected to network rail in the small hours of Sunday morning. No time was wasted in testing the new crossing, and at approximately 12.40 DRS Class 37 37194 became the first rail traffic across Station Road in 40 years. Everything is now set for the big event on 11th March when 70013 Oliver Cromwell will haul The Broadsman over the new crossing declaring it officially open. | |||
